The Orthodox Christian Fellowship in the U.S. is calling on local parishes to help identify Orthodox students who will be attending colleges in the fall. A list will be made and forwarded to local OCF parish leaders so that personal contact can be made within 40 days of the start of school. Many Orthodox students ‘fall between the cracks’ if they do not seek out the local OCF chapter directly or identify themselves at a local Orthodox parish. Another factor is that some students feel a special connection to their home parish and not understand the need to have a continued, active relationship with Orthodoxy in their temporary college home. This can lead to the weakening of their faith at a time when it is being challenged in the anti-Christian (and/or anti-Orthodox) college environment they have entered. Contact information is in the news release
